Webinar series: USDA Grants for shared kitchens

Part 1: Let’s talk USDA Local Food Grants – info and Q&A session with Samantha Schaffstall (USDA – AMS) and Bill Seretta (Fork Food Lab)

Target audience: folks interested in applying for federal grants for shared kitchen programs/projects

Why: The USDA recently announced the availability of millions of dollars in competitive grant funding under the Farm Bill’s Local Agriculture Market Program (LAMP). USDA encourages projects that assist underserved local and regional agricultural businesses, producer networks and associations, and local and tribal government in responding to COVID-19 disruptions and impacts. Funding is not contingent upon applicants directly addressing these issues.

Bootstrapping a shared commercial kitchen is never easy. Especially if you are looking to make a difference in your local community, support small food businesses, or run educational programs. Happily, over $92.2 million in grant funding was announced for the Local Agriculture Market Program alone. If you’re looking to make a difference and need the funding to kick-start your project, attend this webinar with USDA.

Applications are due in June and July so you will have to act quickly.

Topics: What funds are available? Who can and should apply? What to expect in the application process? Example of shared kitchen project.
